About Me
Hi, I’m Sophie Harris. I’m a Postpartum & Motherhood Therapist and Coach. I support women through the emotional challenges of early motherhood, whether you're navigating the intensity of postpartum or finding your feet as a mum to toddlers or young children. I’m passionate about helping you feel more like you again, calmer, more confident, and more in control.
With over 15 years of experience working in the NHS, and since 2020 in my private practice - Looking After Mum, I’ve supported hundreds of mums with issues like anxiety, overwhelm, anger, low mood, identity struggles, and people-pleasing. My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies like CBT and enriched by a deep understanding of motherhood’s unique demands.
I use my deep understanding of the postpartum experience to share helpful mental health resources forms online, and from this I have built an audience of over 100K followers on my Instagram (@looking_after_mum). My work has been featured in Stylist, Women’s Health, Sheerluxe and Happiful magazine, and I’ve appeared as an expert in campaigns for brands including Pampers and Tommy’s. I’m passionate about making mental health support more relatable, accessible, and tailored to help mums feel their best in motherhood.
I know how hard it can be to ask for help, especially when you're the one who usually holds everything together. But you don’t have to do this alone. Together, we’ll work gently and practically to help you feel more emotionally regulated, more connected to yourself, and more equipped to navigate this season of life with confidence.
This is what Sheerluxe Magazine has to say about Sophie in their Postpartum Experts Worth Knowing article…
“Postnatal recovery isn’t just physical and Sophie Harris – founder of Looking After Mum – offers therapy designed to help you navigate the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood. From birth trauma to anxiety and relationship shifts, her calm, non-judgemental sessions help mothers make sense of this enormous life change. Her approach is collaborative, not clinical, empowering mothers to shape their own recovery with support that feels human, not textbook. Gentle, thoughtful and practical – Sophie is the therapist every new mum should have on speed dial.”
